I’ve been walking on the outskirts
Somewhere I’ve been close to
but never quite been before
Let the cool air and the springtime green
Wash over me

I’m treading on the outskirts of a place before our time
Before stones got shifted into walls and lines
And the only thing that met the sky
was the horizon

I’m not gonna tell you where it is
If I do the others will just follow you
And more & more will come until they wreck it


I’m walking in the footsteps
Someone who might have lived some years ago
When rocks were an important thing
A buffer from the cold

I’m drifting toward the other side
Looking for some place to hide
Far from the drones & wi-fi

A calf came wandering down the ridge
Ran & he bellowed 'til he finally found his mother
And they nuzzled & they nuzzled in Cow Eden

The bovine, me & the great unknown
